Alternative folk artist Allysen Callery to Perform at Linden Place Mansion
??
ALLYSEN CALLERY
Join us in the historic Linden Place Mansion for an amazing night of folk music!
Singer-songwriter, Allysen Callery will be joining Linden Place for an entertaining night of folk music in the Linden Place Mansion parlors at 500 Hope Street in Bristol, Rhode Island on Friday, April 7th at 7:30pm.??
Known for her captivating lyrics and beautiful vocals, Allysen Callery has a dedicated following in Europe and Australia as well as in New England where she won the Providence Phoenix Singer-Songwriter of the Year award in 2012. She is best described as creating ???quiet music for a loud world” with her tightly crafted, elegantly performed originals earning her a place at the forefront of the ???ghost folk??? genre. Her delicate, austere sound has been compared to classic British folk artists like Sandy Denny and Vashti Bunyan. A native of Rhode Island, Callery taught herself to sing and play fingerstyle guitar by listening to her parents’ collection of U.K. folk records from the ’60s and ’70s.??She regularly tours in Europe.
??“Her lilting voice and heartfelt lyrics are eerily close to the work of the late British songstress Sandy Denny, the highest compliment I could hand down to this brilliant artist.”- Paste Magazine 50 States Project.
Tickets for the concert are $20 for general admissions and $15 for Linden Place members, and free for Colt Circle members. Reservations should be made in advance as seating is limited. Please contact the office at 401-253-0390 for reservations or purchase tickets online at www.lindenplace.org.??
