Weaver Library is delighted to present a unique evening of local theater on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 7pm.?? Just in time for spring, the Players of Rhode Island’s historic Barker Playhouse perform in ?????The Timeless Language of Love,??? a revue that includes a piece from ???Romeo and Juliet??? from the Barker???s current season. The Players also offer a scene from one of their acting classes done as a staged reading, and a selection of music sung by a Player member.??
Founded in 1909 in Providence, RI, The Players at Barker Playhouse is America???s oldest continuously running little theatre. 2016-2017 marks the Players??? 108th season, which featured ???Time Stands Still??? by Donald Margulies, ???The Christmas Spirit??? by Frederick Stroppel, and ???Wait Until Dark??? by Frederick Knott. Audiences can see ???Romeo and Juliet??? and ???Godspell??? this spring.?? Come learn about the Barker Playhouse and enjoy the talented Players in a library program that is free and open to all.
