WOMR Celebrates Its 35th Birthday with A Party and Silent Auction

Celebration takes place at the Eastham Elk Lodge on March 19th.

Provincetown: On Sunday, March 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, WOMR/WFMR, Cape Cod???s community radio, will present a joint Birthday Party and Silent Auction at the Elks Lodge across from the Sheraton/Four Points in Eastham.

Local favorite The Rip-It-Ups will be the featured band, performing a range of songs and musical styles. Fronted by dynamic vocalist & instrumentalist Jodi Birchall, the band plays everything from ballads, originals, and country-and-western to great jazz, blues, and rock, and always with a lot of energy.

The line-up for the band at this year???s party includes Gary Locke (who played with the Bluesdusters for many years in the Cape Cod area), Paul Lezniak on sax (he???s played with Bert Jackson and The Kingfish), bassist Ron Siegel, and drummer Liam Hogg who have both played on the Cape for many years, currently with bands The Lustre Kings and Sarah Swain & the Oh Boys.

General admission is $15, but it???s free when signing up for any level of WOMR membership.

???I’m really looking forward to it; it???s always a fun party,??? says drummer Liam Hogg. “We had such a great party last year,” said Ira Wood, WOMR’s board president. “I know that a lot of people are looking forward to this year’s celebration???I know I am!”

Food will be provided by The Fairway and Red Barn restaurants, both in Eastham. There will be a cash bar and raffles.
