SPRINGFIELD, MA???Western New England University will host high school and college students and their parents, at an open house on Sunday, March 5, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the St. Germain Campus Center. ???This undergraduate open house is intended for all prospective students, regardless of their year in high school or college,??? says Vice President for Enrollment Management Bryan Gross. ???It is an opportunity to come to campus to get a sense of the University???s warm and engaging community, while learning about the wide variety of academic programs, our emphasis on inter-disciplinary collaboration, and our vibrant student clubs and activities.???

Guests will have the chance to tour the campus and residence halls, meet current students, get a general overview of the admissions and financial aid process, and have academic questions answered by members of the faculty. The day concludes with an exhibit where students can gather more information on student clubs and activities, honors programs, athletic opportunities at both the NCAA and intramural levels, as well as hear from the Career Development Center regarding the varied internship and career opportunities Western New England University students are receiving.

A Social Work Luncheon is open to prospective students attending the open house who would like to meet with a small group of faculty, current students, and alumni of the Social Work program. Students can discover more about the program???s accreditation, including the opportunity to complete four internships in four years. The Council on Social Work Education has awarded its highest marks to the Western New England University Social Work program. This accreditation qualifies students to apply for Advanced Standing in Master of Social Work programs to earn their master???s degree in one year instead of two.

Prospective female students and their families are invited to attend the Women Who Excel Luncheon designed to celebrate the accomplishments of current and former female students, faculty, and staff. Attendees will get a sense of the supportive environment available to students, and why female students thrive at Western New England University.
