According to Fisher, New England sat perched on the edge of the English Atlantic empire and its people and economy were intertwined with the wider English Caribbean world. Fisher???s presentation considers the wider world of Native and African slavery in New England and the Caribbean, specifically comparing New England with other English Caribbean Islands to understand the full scope of slavery over time.??
