Come join us for an evening of music from ragtime to swing and bebop music in the Linden Place mansion parlors on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Jazz pianist Lois Vaughan and her quartet will perform an eclectic medley of jazz standards at historic Linden Place Mansion, 500 Hope Street in Bristol on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 7:30 pm.
Playing a range of classic jazz and Latin tunes with a mix of swing, ragtime and more on the mansion’s Steinway grand piano, Lois Vaughan is accompanied by Genevieve Rose, a string bassist, Mark Teixeira on drums and Art Manchester playing the sax, flute & clarinet.
In between songs, a dialogue about jazz and its history will be held. ??
Pianist Lois Vaughan has been performing professionally for over 30 years. She plays regularly at the Fifth Element Restaurant in Newport and Wharf Tavern in Warren, and performs both as a soloist and with groups for concerts, weddings, and other special events at venues around the state.
Her CD of original music, ‘Piano Meditations’, was released in 2013.
Ms. Vaughan also teaches jazz piano at St. Georges School in Middletown RI. ??
Tickets to this intimate performance are $20, $15 for Linden Place members and free for Colt Circle Members.??

Friends of Linden Place is a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration and preservation of the historic house museum at 500 Hope Street in Bristol, Rhode Island, and for the promotion of cultural, artistic, and educational programs in the community. The mansion and grounds are open to the public from May to October, during the holiday season, and also by appointment.??
