PROVIDENCE, R.I. -??This week??Governor Gina M. Raimondo will highlight her commitment to building healthy communities and bring families together as part of the Season of Giving.??
On Monday, the Governor will hold a press conference on a new Medicaid initiative that will lead to better care, healthier Rhode Islanders, and smarter spending. More Rhode Islanders will get better, coordinated care that helps them avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency room and more of our elderly Rhode Islanders will get the support they need to age with dignity and stay in their homes.????
On??Tuesday, the Governor and the First Family will get their flu shots from Dr.??Nicole Alexander-Scott, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health. A flu shot will keep you at school and at work, and help ensure you are healthy this holiday season instead of spending a week in bed trying to get over the flu!??
Later in the week, the Governor??and First Gentleman Andy Moffit will host a Holiday Celebration and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Rhode Island State House for all Rhode Island families.??The event will feature performances from the Governor’s Own 88th??Army Band and a visit from Santa Claus!??The First Family encourages guests to bring an unwrapped toy and help “Fill a Cruiser” with the State Police to benefit local children in need.??
