Community VNA Joins the #GivingTuesday Movement to Raise Money for Hospice Care Program
ATTLEBORO, MA ??? Community VNA, a non-profit agency dedicated to enhancing health, wellness and quality of life for more than 100 years, is joining the #GivingTuesday movement to raise money for its Hospice Care program.
Just as Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday, which is Tuesday, November 29, 2016, kicks off the giving season. A global day dedicated to giving, #GivingTuesday inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
A gift to Community VNA???s Hospice Care Program will help hospice nurses provide
compassionate end of life care ??? regardless of a patient???s ability to pay. Every year, nearly 1.6 million people living with a life-limiting illness receive care from hospice and palliative care providers in this country according to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Community VNA???s Hospice and Palliative Care programs provide pain management, symptom control, psychosocial support, and spiritual care to patients and their families [in a private residence, assisted living facility or nursing home] when a cure is not possible.
???Hospice is about patients driving their own plan of care with dignity, comfort, respect and peace,??? said Colleen Swihart, Community VNA Hospice Care Manager.
Our Hospice and Palliative Care team combines the highest level of quality medical care with the emotional and spiritual support families need most when facing end of life.
Through this Specialized quality care, many patients and their families experience more meaningful moments together. Hospice helps them focus on living despite a terminal diagnosis.
