The long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, November 24-27, is not only a time for homecomings to reunite with family and friends; it???s a great occasion for everyone to reconnect with community. There???s no better place to do this with those close to you than in Rhode Island???s Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park.

Holiday weekend fun for people and pets!

Thanksgiving morning, November 24, participate in the Turkey Trot & 5K Run in Downtown Pawtucket, RI. Events operate from in front of City Hall, Roosevelt Avenue. At 9:30 am, enjoy the Youth Fun Run, followed at 10 am by the 5 kilometer run.

Sunday, November 27, 10 am-3 pm, bring your pets to celebrate in Pawtucket???s Slater Memorial Park, off Armistice Boulevard, for the Paws & Claws event in the parks??? Daggett Farm. Jazz & Blues for the Holiday!

One of Southern New England???s top venues for great jazz and blues, Chan???s Eggrolls and Jazz, 267 Main Street, Woonsocket, RI, presents two concerts over the long weekend.??

Friday night, November 25, at 8 pm and 10 pm, Poppa Chubby performs two shows. Known for his high energy rocking blues guitar, Poppa Chubby is back after a two month European tour.????

And, Saturday night, November 26, at 8 pm, the popular band Neil Vitullo & The Vipers perform. This popular music artist has built a 30 year following performing with some of the jazz and blues legends like B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bonnie Raitt and others.
