MEETING A GROWING NEED
Hebron Food Pantry???s limited freezer space causes Michelle Burch, Director, to let reduced price food, sometimes even free food, go unordered as she simply can???t find space for it! Hebron needs to expand its ability to offer meat and other frozen foods by purchasing a walk-in freezer. Hebron is the Attleboro area???s largest food pantry, serving 250 to 300 seniors and working families every week.??
By investing in more freezer space, Hebron will be able to take full advantage of the special offers and free foods available through the Greater Boston Food Bank, as well as one-time donations that retailers and food distributors sometimes make available. Larger items, like turkeys and hams, can be ordered early, at low prices, and stored for holiday distribution. The result will be more food, more variety, and more consistency in the offerings to those who rely on the pantry.
The Attleboro Foundation has generously agreed to provide $9,000, or about half the cost, but Hebron needs your help to fund the remaining cost of purchasing and installing a freezer. Hebron is keenly aware of all the support the Attleboro area has given over these last 17 years. It is thanks to you that Hebron is able to take this big step forward in helping our neighbors who are finding it difficult to make ends meet with over-stretched paychecks or only social security.
Contributions can be sent to the Hebron Food Pantry, 11 Sanford Street, Attleboro, MA 02703. For your convenience, donations can be made by credit card on Hebron???s website hebronfoodpantry.org. Remember, your entire donation is tax deductible!
