Engineer It! Materials Challenge Sunday, October 2 – Tuesday October 4?? ????? 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Kids complete different engineering challenges using simple household items.?? Build amazing structures using only cardboard squares, construct towers with popsicle sticks and clothespins, and create contraptions from paper tubes and straws. Underwritten by Amgen Foundation.

Mosaics: Parts and Wholes Sunday, October 2?? ????? 1:00 – 3:00 PM Join a special celebration of Deaf Awareness Month, hosted by Rhode Island Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.?? Make mosaics with muralist and teacher of the deaf Peter Geisser and enjoy stories told in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreted for the hearing. Underwritten by Providence Tourism Council and Vigneron Memorial Fund. Puzzle Works Wednesday, October 5 & Thursday, October 6?? ????? 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Take on creative challenges with a colorful assortment of shape and patterning puzzles in Discovery Studio, the Museum???s hands-on art and science exploration space.?? Try your hand at geometric, mosaic, wooden and magnetic puzzles that involve shape sequencing and sorting and have multiple solutions.

Toddler Try-It: Puzzle Play Friday, October 7?? ????? 10:00 AM – Noon Young children, ages 18 months to 3 years, use real tools and explore the creative process as they delve into different hands-on art and science activities each Friday morning.?? This week, toddlers put together and take apart a variety of shape and patterning puzzles. Underwritten by National Grid.

Super Structures Saturday, October 8 & Sunday, October 9?? ????? 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Explore an intriguing assortment of 3-D design and construction challenges big and small!?? Build big Stick Structures from wooden dowels, rubber bands, fabric and other intriguing ???loose parts.????? Invent structures that are large enough to climb inside and construct a giant cube that stands up on its own!?? Also create Confection Constructions by connecting marshmallows and toothpicks, and join together spools and sticks to tackle clever Tinker Toy creations. Underwritten by Amgen Foundation.

Providence Children???s Museum ??? play is powerful!

The Museum is located at 100 South Street in Providence???s Jewelry District.?? September through March, open Tuesday through Sunday and Monday school holidays, 9 AM to 6 PM, and selected Fridays until 8 PM.?? April through August, open 7 days.??
