The Arc of Bristol County announced that Michael Andrade will be stepping down as President and CEO effective October 15, 2016, to assume the position of President and CEO for the Cardinal Cushing Centers based in Hanover, MA.
During his 13 year tenure at The Arc, Andrade has turned a one-million dollar annual budget organization to over twelve million dollar in varied services, and successfully grown the agency to support over 2,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Southeastern MA and Rhode Island. Richard Harwood, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, stated “We are extremely grateful for Michael’s dedication and vision in leading The Arc of Bristol County. He leaves to explore new horizons in delivering services and empowering individuals with disabilities but has left our agency in outstanding financial shape and program strength. The entire Board wishes him all the best.” Over the next few weeks, The Arc’s Board of Directors will be enacting a transition plan to ensure ongoing continuity and next steps for his successor.

With bittersweet emotions, I am announcing my resignation for the position of President and CEO of The Arc of Bristol for the position of President and CEO of The Arc of Bristol County effective October 15, 2016. I can’t express how much The Arc has meant to me over the past 13 years; The Arc has truly been part of my family. We have grown together over the past decade to transform this wonderful organization that remains committed to its founding values and principles, while expanding and building new initiatives. I have grown so much both professionally and personally as a result of the amazing people that I have had the opportunity to work with.
I can’t express enough thanks for the trust and the confidence that you have afforded me. This decision was extremely difficult but rested with having the ability to impact change at a larger level, and also feeling confident that the present time is one where The Arc is at its strongest.
I sincerely look forward to the collective future possibilities and my most sincere thanks for this amazing honor.
