Discover Rhode Island???s New National Park!??
Weaver Library continues its commemoration of the Centennial of the National Park Service with a slide presentation by Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park Ranger Kevin Klyberg on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 7pm in the Champlin Program Room of the library. All Rhode Islanders are invited to “Discover Rhode Island???s NEW National Park.”
Congress established The Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park in December, 2014 to celebrate the Blackstone Valley’s role in launching the American Industrial Revolution. Klyberg will share details of the new park, its locations, and why the Blackstone Valley is a nationally significant story. He will also discuss how a new National Park is created.
Ranger Kevin Klyberg has worked for the National Park Service for almost 20 years, first with the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor and now with the new Blackstone Park. He grew up along the banks of the Blackstone Canal in Lincoln, RI.
