BookCover-RollerGirl: Roller Girl by RISD graduate Victoria Jamieson is the 2016 Kids Reading Across RI selection that has the inspired the BIG NAZO LAB workshop. All kids and teens who attend will get a FREE copy of this book.

Using Sharpie markers, plasti-foam, and his imagination, Jackson Perron, age 7 of Pawtucket, develops his own Roller Reader Helmet with the BIG NAZO LAB at a previously held workshop at the Adams Memorial Library in Central Falls.????????

??What could be more fun than reading a book about Roller Derby while wearing your own creatively customized super-helmet? The Pawtucket Public Library will be hosting the BIG NAZO LAB on Saturday, July 23rd from 1:30pm – 3:30pm in the library???s Campbell Auditorium.

The BIG NAZO LAB “Roller-Reader Robot Helmet” Workshop will allow kids and teens to use sticky-back Plasti-foam, ping pong balls, beads, staplers and colorful Sharpie markers to develop their own Roller Derby (or Reader-Robot) foam helmet and personas.

At the end of the session, participates will lead a fun parade through the library.

The program is free and no registration is needed. A great art workshop for families, the event is best for kids ages 6 through teen. Parent helpers are encouraged to attend to assist the younger participants.

All kids and teens will get a FREE copy of the graphic novel Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson. (2016 Kids Reading Across RI Selection).
