RAIN, THUNDER, AND THE ARK
First grade students at St. John the Evangelist School in Attleboro learned about rain and created “thunderstorms” in their music class.
Music Teacher Sue Fortin explained that, “it’s part of a unit I’ve been doing on songs about rain.??
We made a rainstorm with rain sticks and a thunder machine instrument. We acted out another song from a book called the Yellow Umbrella with a piano piece written to accompany it.”
The students also read the “Noah’s Ark” story and learned the bible song “Who Built The Ark”.??
Using a fabric prop that looked like water, the students pretended to be the animals entering the ark.??According to Mrs. Fortin, “they were so excited!”
