RIHS Announces 2016 Concerts Under the Elms Lineup for 20th Season

(PROVIDENCE, R.I.) ??? The 20th season of the Rhode Island Historical Society???s beloved Concerts Under the Elms series starts June 30, and today the RIHS announced the 2016 lineup, full of bands both familiar and new to the crowds who will gather on the grounds of the John Brown House Museum this summer.

??“It hard to believe, but 2016 is our 20th year of producing our Concerts Under the Elms series. Wow! This year promises to be our best season yet,??? said Mary Lou Upham, RIHS membership officer and Concerts Under the Elms organizer.??

???We???re bringing back plenty of favorites, plus we???re thrilled to add two new local bands, Neal & the Vipers and the Reggio Centracchio Quintet. It’s always a fantastic time, in a wonderful setting, with great music and food. Grab your friends and join us for a fun way to spend a Thursday summer evening in the city.???

Here???s the full lineup for the 2016 Concerts Under the Elms series, along with food truck pairings:

June 30: American Band (Fugo)

July 7: Duke Robillard (Citizen Wing)

July 14: The Becky Chace Band (Mijos)

July 21: Neal & the Vipers (Fugo)

July 28: Pendragon (Citizen Wing)

August 4: The Reggie Centracchio Quintet (Mijos)

In addition, Macaron Millie from Ellie???s Bakery will sell desserts, while Granny Squibb iced teas will be available for a $2 donation.????

Concerts begin at 6:30pm on the John Brown House Museum lawn, 52 Power St., Providence, and end at 8pm. In case of inclement weather, concertgoers should check RIHS.org or call (401) 331-8575 x133 after 1:30pm on the day of the concert. Rain date is August 11.????

Concertgoers may bring their own coolers, chairs, and blankets. No pets are allowed.
