PAWTUCKET ??? As part of the group???s first ever Millennial Week, Millennial Professional Group of Rhode Island (MPGRI) paid a visit to McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket this past Saturday.

With the Pawtucket Red Sox on the road for a league matchup versus Buffalo, MPGRI had the facility to themselves. The visit included a private tour of the historic facility, some batting practice in McCoy???s indoor batting cages and a photograph session on the field. The group was joined by Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien, Pawtucket City Councilor Sandra Cano and Senator William Conley. General Manager Dan Rea and Vice President Dr. Charles Steinberg were also in attendance.??????

???It was a lot of fun to see the group enjoying themselves here one of Pawtucket???s best attractions,??? said Mayor Grebien of the visit to McCoy. ???MPGRI has done a tremendous job at engaging young professionals and we are proud to have them here in our City experiencing all that Pawtucket has to offer,??? continued Grebien. Earlier this week, MPGRI hosted an event at Breaktime Bowl and Bar in Pawtucket???s Hope Artiste Village as part of the group???s weeklong initiative, Millennial Week.

MPGRI was founded in 2014 and their mission states that MPGRI is ???committed to retaining local talent to choose Rhode Island as their place to live, work and grow.???

MPGRI???s Co-Founder and Executive Director, Travis J. Escobar, recognizes the importance of re-introducing the younger generation of Rhode Islanders to some of Rhode Island???s favorite traditions. ???The Pawtucket Red Sox and McCoy stadium are as Rhode Island as coffee milk and hot wieners and an important part of our state???s proud cultural history,??? stated Escobar, who earlier this week appeared on Dan Yorke State of Mind to promote Millennial Week. ???I want to acknowledge and thank the City of Pawtucket and the PawSox organization for giving Millennial Professional Group of Rhode Island the opportunity to intimately experience this historic ballpark and foster that sense of pride and historical appreciation amongst Millennials.???

“The Pawtucket Red Sox were honored to host the Millennial Professional Group of RI and the City of Pawtucket with beloved Mayor Grebien today. This event was a great way to bring people together who believe in the city of Pawtucket as well as to bring out the inner child in all of us through the game of baseball.” said Grace Eng, Manager of McCoy Enterprises and Internship Coordinator.??
