In two weeks, we plan to temporarily close the historic Clarence L. Hussey Memorial Bridge which carries approximately 13,636 vehicles per day on Route 1A (Boston Neck Road) over Wickford Cove in North Kingstown.
The closure is necessary to allow us to safely restore and rehabilitate the bridge which dates back to 1925. We will also need to temporarily close the bridge again later in the Fall as part of a phased construction project, timed to lessen the impacts to the busy summer tourism season and businesses in the area.
