Unique Musical Program at the Weaver Library

MusiciaCa unique musical program, at the Weaver Library on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7pm.??

For over 40 years, Brown has been collecting musical instruments from around the globe, sharing their sounds and shapes with audiences of all ages. Brown discusses the countries and cultures that gave birth to the instruments, demonstrates how they are played, and even encourages hands-on participation. ??A partial list of instruments include the gong (China); the Madal (Nepalese barrel drum); the Berimbau (Brazilian musical bow); the Saz (long-neck Turkish lute); the Balalaika (3-string Russian lute); the Cavaquino (Cape Verde Islands); Pan Pipes (South American); Thunder Tube (American) and the Tongue Drum (Africa).

????A highly respected teacher and performer, Brown plays the guitar and 8-string ukulele.?? His primary focus is on ???roots music??? (folk, blues, country music) but he also performs Brazilian jazz and composes music for instrumental finger-style guitar.
